Puzzle

I like this photo because it reminds me of the 10,000 piece puzzles my Mom used to do when I was a kid...

The Camastra Family

Last weekend, while on the east coast, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing the LOVE that is my best friend and her family. MaryLou and I have been friends for over 25 years and counting! She is kind, smart, funny and beautiful - both inside and out... She and Dave (her handsome, manly-man of a husband) have two beautiful girls.

Thanks you guys for letting me be a part of your life - I love you...

I haven't been able to process all of the photos quite yet - but here's a sneak peek...

Back Flips

I'm doing back flips over the new lens I just got. I've been wanting it for quite some time now and FINALLY...today was the day! Haven't been able to shoot with it yet - but trust me...when I do...you'll be the first to know.

The is actually b-boy Leon doing back flips in Barbados - I'm sure you figured out by now that I can't really do back flips!

Fall '08

Well...Fall is definitely here! I snagged these shots of Frost Woods this past weekend - while shooting my best friend of over 25 years and her family. I'll introduce them later on in the week.

Enjoy the beauty of Fall while you can...

The Locals

I spent a good portion of the day shooting a few Bajan kids as they jumped off a pier into the Caribbean Sea...

The only way to get a decent shot was to get in the water...let's just say - I think I need underwater housing for my camera...I hope it still works once it dries out!

Here's a sneak peek...more later...

Andrews Sugar Factory

One of the last two functioning sugar factories in Barbados. Sugar cane used to be the main source of economics in Barbados - now it's tourism...go figure!

Wild Orchid Garden

We went to Orchid World today which is situated 841 feet above sea level and lies in the high rainfall sector of Barbados.

The landscape was beautiful (1st shot) and so were the orchids. I won't bore you with a gazillion shots of flowers - but here are just a few...

Flippin' Leon

Met b-boy Leon on the beach today...this kid could do some serious stuff with his body...

I seriously thought he was practicing for the next Olympics...as it turns out he's a breakdancer and he was just trying to keep in shape.

I have more on Leon - but here's a sneak peek!

Barbadian Clouds

Science my ass! There's no way science could produce anything this magnificent...

I spent the entire day today on the beach...mostly in the water and despite my best efforts I still somehow managed to get a tan...

When I wasn't in the water - I was nestled quite comfortably under an umbrella and while staring off into "space", I became obsessed with the cloud formations that persisted throughout the day. I can't really explain it - but it almost seems as if the clouds actually rise up from the ground and/or the ocean rather than descend down from the sky... I've asked around and no one seems to be able to tell me why...perhaps it's because we're so close to the equator????

Here's just a sample of the cloud formations I saw today. I could swear I see Elmo in the last photo... No seriously...

Barbados - We're Here...

Well our first day/night in Barbados has come and gone...it's 11:43pm on Tuesday night and all is very, very well.

We arrived at the hotel around 1:00pm (est), dropped our bags and headed for the beach. The first shot is from our hotel balcony, the second from our lunch spot on the beach and the third - the perfect ending to the perfect day...

Mom's happy and after an afternoon of sun, food, relaxation and an evening of good food, wine and music...we're off to bed! After I check my email of course...

Off to Barbados

My Mom and I are going to Barbados for her 60th birthday...!!! We'll both get some much needed R&R - but most importantly I get to spend 8 glorious days with my Mom...just the two of us...

Fear not - I will still continue to post (hopefully). Have a great weekend!
